Job sheet app and website: Maintivo
Maintivo is an inspection and service report app for UK engineers and small service firms. Fill in the job on your phone while you are on site and the PDF with your logo is done before you leave. We designed and built the iPhone app, the web app that stays in step with it and the maintivo.com website. It started with the engineers at Mainteniq.
The website, live today.
Engineers decide quickly, from a phone, often in a plant room. The website has to show a real report, say what it costs and answer the trade's questions straight away.

The job, at a glance.
Problem, build, result.
What they needed
The engineers at Mainteniq were doing certificates and reports on paper, or on a laptop in a plant room, and typing them up in the evening. They needed to run the whole job from a phone.
The build
A native iPhone app with trade forms, photos, signatures and branded PDFs that works with no signal, a web app on the same backend for the office, an optional invoicing add-on, and a website with a page for each trade.
Live and in use
Maintivo is on the App Store and in the browser, and Mainteniq uses it on live jobs. The website shows sample reports, explains each trade and says plainly what it is and is not.
What we did.
The app, for iPhone
Designed and built by us: forms for the job, photos, readings and an on-screen signature, a branded PDF with the company's logo, and full offline use for plant rooms, basements and lofts. What it means for engineers: the report is finished on site, not typed up at the kitchen table.
A web app that stays in step
A web app on the same Supabase backend, so the same account works on Android phones, tablets and computers, and whatever is done in one shows in the other. What it means for engineers: an engineer starts on site and the office finishes at a desk.
Forms for the trade
Nine ready-made templates, including the Landlord Gas Safety Record (CP12), F-Gas leak checks, HVAC and MVHR service records and a work inspection, a HIU commissioning flow and a template builder. What it means for engineers: a firm starts with a form that matches its work, or builds its own.
Invoicing and the asset register
An optional invoicing add-on that turns a signed report into an invoice, an equipment register with due dates and reminders, and separate views for owners and engineers. What it means for engineers: the office sees money and due dates, and engineers see only their jobs.
A website for each trade
Pages for gas engineers, F-Gas, HVAC, HIU, plumbing and facilities teams, honest comparisons with other apps, pricing, FAQs and sample reports a visitor can open. What it means for engineers: an engineer searching for a CP12 app or a leak check calculator lands on a page that answers them.
Set up to be found
Page titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, a sitemap and an llms.txt file, so Google and AI tools can read what Maintivo is, who it is for and what it is not. What it means for engineers: the app is explained clearly to the search engines and AI assistants engineers already ask.
The problems, and how we solved them.
Every project hits real obstacles. These are the ones on this build, each with what it was and what we did about it.
Working with no signal
The challenge. Plant rooms, risers and lofts have no signal, and an app that needs a connection fails where the work happens.
How we solved it. The iPhone app works fully offline, photos and signature included, and uploads by itself when the signal returns.
One account, two ways in
The challenge. Some firms use iPhones, others Android phones, tablets or a desktop in the office.
How we solved it. A web app on the same backend as the iPhone app, so one account and one subscription cover both, and reports, customers and PDFs stay in step.
Records that cannot contradict themselves
The challenge. A report that says no leak found but lists a leak location is worse than a paper form.
How we solved it. Conditional fields hide what does not apply, the engineer's name is set by the admin, and registration numbers print on the records they sign.
F-Gas maths done for you
The challenge. The leak check interval depends on the refrigerant and the charge, and getting it wrong matters.
How we solved it. The engineer picks the refrigerant and enters the charge, and Maintivo shows tonnes of CO2e, the check band and the next due date, using the Great Britain rules.
Keeping prices from engineers
The challenge. Owners want engineers to capture jobs, not see invoices and margins.
How we solved it. Two role-based views: owners and admins get finance, invoicing and settings, and engineers on a seat get only their own jobs.
Being honest about what it is
The challenge. Engineers compare it with big management platforms, which it is not.
How we solved it. The website says plainly that it has no scheduling, dispatch or accounting, compares it with other apps, and shows sample reports so a visitor can judge it for themselves.
Hand-coded, written down, yours.
Every site we build follows the same rules, so you always know what you are getting and who owns it.
Hand-coded, no template
Written by hand for this business. No theme, no page builder, no pile of plugins slowing it down.
Fast, and better for search
Less code means faster pages, and speed is one of the things Google looks at. It also keeps visitors from leaving.
SEO and AEO, written down
What we do for Google and for AI assistants is agreed in writing before we start, then reported in plain English.
You own it
Once the final invoice is paid, the domain, the code, the words and the pictures are yours.
