VandaVee, a small brand, built to travel
A founder-led luxury furniture and objects brand, given a custom website she runs herself, placed on 1stDibs and Oblist, and the operations, logistics and authentication to sell across three countries.
A founder building something special by hand, held back by tools that couldn't keep up as the brand crossed three countries.
The brief. A founder-led luxury furniture and objects brand that needed more than a storefront, a website the owner could run entirely herself, plus the operational backbone (global logistics and product authentication) behind it.
What we built. We designed and built the custom website and a bespoke content management system behind it, with a secure client login so the owner manages her own pages, copy and image library without touching code or WordPress. It runs on a Next.js front end and a Supabase backend (authentication, a Postgres database and media storage), so everything is fast, secure and fully hers. Around it we set up operations and global logistics workflows and a proprietary NFC authentication system so every piece can be verified as genuine, and the whole site is built with SEO so the brand is discoverable in search.
Why it works. Owning the platform means she updates the catalogue the moment stock changes, without waiting on anyone. The Supabase backend keeps products, media and records in one place and scales with the brand, while NFC authentication protects it from counterfeits and gives buyers proof of provenance.
What we did
- Website and content system
- A custom site with a bespoke admin she signs into to manage products, images and pages herself, no developer needed.
- Operations and growth
- Acted as the brand's director of operations and growth, taking it from ad-hoc social-media sales to a business selling across the US and EU.
- Marketplaces
- Negotiated the brand onto 1stDibs and Oblist, the luxury design marketplaces where her buyers already shop.
- Logistics and supply chain
- International shipping and fulfilment partners, so pieces travel safely between three countries without the founder chasing every parcel.
- Authentication
- A proprietary NFC system: every piece carries a chip that issues a branded Letter of Authentication, proof of provenance for the buyer and protection against copies.
- Business framework
- A professionalised financial and legal setup, so the brand could scale without the founder carrying every decision.
- Search
- Built to be found on Google for the pieces and the brand.
Questions, answered
What did YektaD do for VandaVee?
Designed and built the custom website with a self-serve admin, then led operations and growth as the brand's director of operations and growth: negotiated placement on 1stDibs and Oblist, set up international logistics and supply chain, professionalised the financial and legal framework, and built a proprietary NFC authentication system.
How does the authentication work?
Every piece ships with an embedded NFC chip; a tap opens a registration link, the owner receives a branded Letter of Authentication, and the record is stored securely, a traceable certificate of provenance.
Can VandaVee update the website herself?
Yes. We built a Supabase backend with a secure admin dashboard she signs into from the site to add and manage products, images and content herself, no developer needed.
Did the client keep control of the brand?
Yes. VandaVee kept full autonomy over brand identity and social throughout.
Building a brand that needs more than a template?
VandaVee needed a luxury front end and a secure system to run it herself, so it was built custom. Here is how to decide what you need. Book a free discovery call, or read Shopify, WordPress or custom?.
